James R. Jacobs, 76, of Coventry, beloved husband of Reona (Girardin) Jacobs passed away Saturday December 31, 2016. He was born July 30, 1940 in Willimantic. He enjoyed antique trucks, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and the Heckler's Farm. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Manchester Coon and Fox Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Laurie Ann Jacobs and her partner Robert Danehy of Madison, CT and James Andrew Jacobs and his wife Christine Harris of San Francisco, CA. He also leaves his biological siblings, Carl Jacobs and his wife Denise of Southington and Millie Kozlowski of Rockville; and his foster family Richard Goldsnider and his wife Gwen, and Carl Goldsnider all of Coventry and many nieces and nephew and his beloved cat, Mittens. He was predeceased by his biological siblings, Howard, Morris, Arthur, and Beverly. He was a well known character and icon in Coventry and will be missed by his many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. Mary's Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Coventry.
