The following is a passage from the book “September” by Rosamunde Pilcher. I hope that these words might comfort you the way they have comforted me...
Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. Condolence: I knew Eddie for many years, he was both a friend and a mentor to me in the high roller pits. I worked at Mohegan Sun from the opening until 2013 and was always inspired by Eddie's easygoing manner, and how he kept calm (and could crack wise)even under the most stressful circumstances in our hectic Casino careers. Watching him rise from a dealer, (remember those bad polyester tuxedos we had to wear!) to a supervisor, to a pit manager was yet another way for him to inspire all of us to become better than what we were. I will greatly miss my friend and my mentor.
