Joseph J. Drenga, 81, of Vernon, beloved husband of Judith (Mosca) Drenga, passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 19, 1932 in Middletown, the son of the late John and Caroline (Spiwak) Drenga. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of St. Joseph Church. His ministries included: lector, extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and scripture study teacher. He was a Secular Franciscan and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph Drenga, Christina Drenga, Rita Smith and her husband Everett, Maria Drenga and John Drenga and his wife Jill; his brother, George Drenga; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Christopher, Rachael, Jessica, Katelyn, Alyssa, Andrew, Melany and Catie. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St. Rockville, CT 06066. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Church, 33 West St. Rockville, CT 06066. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville.
