Shawn Philip Lopez, 20, of Coventry, beloved son of Jessica Rowles (Todd Matthewson) of Coventry and Shawn Lopez (Maureen Lopez) of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at his home. Shawn was born in Hartford on July 26, 1997. He was raised in Coventry and West Suffield, graduated from Suffield High School, and returned to Coventry in 2016. His interests included Pokemon, video games, and camping. He had a love for all animals and his favorite place to spend time was Wickham Park. With his parents, he is survived by his sister, Megan Hardy, step-sister Brandy Wilson, and step-brother Brandon Wilson. He also leaves his paternal grandfather Rich Lopez, his maternal grandmother Sherry Rowles (Bill Kibbie), maternal grandfather Scott Rowles (Lynn Rowles), grandparents Frank and Marge Oller, aunts Sheila Lopez and Jessica Ranahan (Brandon Ranahan), uncle Jason Rowles (Deborah Rowles), great grandmother Pauline Rivard; and cousins Samantha LaFontaine and Ian Schlosser. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Renea Rivard, great grandfather Philip Rivard Sr., and great grandparents Sherman and Connie Rowles. He also leaves behind his beloved girlfriend Gabrielle Connors (the most beautiful girl in the world to Shawn), many other family members, and lots of friends in Coventry and Suffield. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, June 1, 2018 between 6-8pm at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 1600 Main Street, Coventry, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
