Juanita Mitchusson Nelson of Tolland, born May 17, 1932, to Charles and Mary Mitchusson in Hughes, Arkansas, passed away at home May 13, 2018.
She leaves her son Eric Nelson of Tennessee; daughter Lori Ann Nelson of California; and daughter-in-love Fran Nelson of Connecticut. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Donald L. Nelson; and their son, Gregory. She also leaves her four grandchildren, Margie Newman of California, Ryan Mason of Hong Kong, William and Rebecca Nelson of Connecticut; along with her four great-grandchildren, Suzianne and CJ Newman of California, and Amelie and Lorelei Mason of Hong Kong were her pride and joy.
Juanita was the youngest of 11 siblings, who have all predeceased her. She loved her work as a bookkeeper for many years after she had raised her children. She was a member of the Manchester Church of Christ for over 50 years where she loved her church family. She was an avid artist and auto harpist, active member of the Tolland Senior Center, and the biggest UConn Huskies women's basketball fan (she never missed a game). She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 18, at 6 p.m. at the Manchester Church of Christ, 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manchester Church of Christ's Senior Saints Fund or to the Tolland Senior Center.
