Obituary for Joseph Barresi

Joseph  Barresi
Joseph A. Barresi, 74 of Enfield, formerly of South Windsor, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with an illness on January 24, 2018. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mona (Pezzente) Barresi; his two brothers and sister, Angelo, Albert and Frances Barresi; his two sons and daughter, Glenn Barresi and his partner Sue of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Carl Barresi and his wife Anna of Enfield, and Karen Choutka and her husband Ken of South Windsor; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Melissa, Samantha, KaSandra, Anthony, Kylie, John, Tommy, and Jamey; three great- grandchildren, Madison, Adriana, and Junior and his two special friends that were always by his side Cocco and Toby.

He was born on December 16, 1943 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Angelica (Schiavone) Barresi and Francis J. Barresi. He graduated from A.I. Prince Technical High School in Hartford Connecticut. He was a member of the U.S. Air Nation Guard for seven years. Joseph worked for the State of Connecticut for many years and also J.C. Penny Catalogue Distribution Center in Manchester as an electrician, where he retired after many years. His greatest passions in life were watching UConn games with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, going out for breakfast in his variety of fast cars, and spending time in the pool. Together Joseph and Mona fulfilled their lifelong dream of having a special gathering place for the family on the beach.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT. A Funeral Home Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, East Windsor, CT.
