Obituary for Alice B. Ogden

Our Dear Mother, Alice Veronica (Bowler) Ogden, 106, of Ellington, beloved wife of the late Quentin Ogden, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017. She was born February 23, 1911 in Unionville, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Sullivan) Bowler. She graduated from Farmington High School and attended Temple University receiving a certificate in Oral Hygiene June 16, 1932. She was certified by the CT Dental Commission July 15, 1933 License # 360. She was a retired member of CT Dental Hygienist Association May 9, 1979. Alice was a very active woman in the Barry Square Senior Center, Hartford and the Ellington Senior Center. Alice also loved to travel. She is survived by her sons John F. Ogden and his wife Karen and Robert E. Ogden and his wife Marion, 9 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, her special friends, Father George (my friend George), Dottie and Tom Curtiss and Mary Hansen, and the staff at Brookdale who lovingly cared for her as well as Dr. and Mrs. Sharma. She was predeceased by her daughter Alice, her two sons Quentin and Donald, her sisters Catherine Burke, Marion Daughn, Bessie Joyce, and Madeline Heffernan, and her brothers John, Daniel, and Ben. Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockvillle, CT from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Luke’s Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington at 11 AM. Burial will be held at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
