Carolyn Frances (Green) Blouin, 75, of Vernon, beloved wife of Charles Blouin died on Friday, June 2, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born June 22, 1941 in Bristol,CT to the late Casmir “Harry” and Sophie (Prucnal) Green. Carolyn raised four amazing kids instilling on them her sense of silliness, importance of family, strength of women, kindness to others and her love of God. She was a registered nurse graduating from the St.Francis School of Nursing and later receiving her masters degree from St. Joseph’s. She was a camp nurse for decades at the Hartford County 4-H Camp. She was a devout Catholic and very involved in her church community of St. Bernards in Rockville. She had many roles as organist, eucharistic minister, lector,CCD teacher and a teacher at the former St. Bernard Catholic School. Carolyn was also very passionate about history and was a volunteer of the Vernon Historical Society. She co-authored Remembering Those Who Served: A History of the War Memorial Tower at Fox Hill, Rockville,Connecticut with Jim (James) Ashe. Carolyn is survived by her husband Charles who always said her optimism balanced out his pessimism and that is what kept him going all these years. She is also survived by her children; Anne Starr and her husband Jim Dick, John EddyBlouin and his wife Allison, Mary Blouin Auffert and her husband George and Paul Blouin and his wife Shelley; her 16 grandchildren, Hannah Beth, James, Joshua,Annalisa,Mason,Mary Catherine, Thalia, John Henry, Thaddeus, Arveragus, Blaise, Agnes, Luke, Lance, Cameron and Jack; her brother Robert Green and his wife Irene. Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home,76 Prospect st, Rockville, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Church, Rockville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
