Ann Hatheway Howard, 94, died peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017. She was born in Ellington CT, November 14, 1922, the daughter of George and Mary (Mitchell) Hatheway. She graduated from Rockville High School. She was employed as a telephone operator and worked for National Fire Insurance Company before settling in to raise her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Aaron Newcomb of Exeter, Maine; four grandchildren, Shannon Combar, Aaron Newcomb II, Laura Green and Kevin Howard and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest M. Howard in 1971 and her son George E.Howard in 2016. She will be remembered for her love of people and the sharing of her stories. A special thank you to Mary Kibbe Butler for being there for her over the years and to the staff of Blair Manor for the care and support they provided.
