Patricia T.  Croteau
Patricia T. Croteau, 82, of Tolland, passed away on April 28, 2017, joining her beloved husband Thomas H. Croteau, Sr. and her son Thomas H. Croteau, Jr. Pat was born on April 28, 1935 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Veronica (Sabonis) Teraila. She grew up and spent all of her married life in Hartford before moving to Tolland 17 years ago. Pat loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who always made her laugh and brightened up her day. Her passion was gardening and working in her greenhouse. She loved quilting, needlework, crafting of all kinds, cake decorating and the art of making sugar eggs at Easter time; which she actually gave a demonstration on television at one time. She leaves behind her loving son James R. Croteau and his wife Debra J. Croteau of Tolland, her grandchildren Danielle Shemanskis and her husband Michael of Vernon, Nicole Croteau, Robert Croteau, Courtney Croteau all of Tolland, and Stephanie Croteau of Manchester, and her great-grandchildren who always made her smile, Shane, Dylan, Logan, Sierra, Cheyenne and Gabriel Shemanskis and her great-grandson Caleb Fortin. She also leaves behind her brother Thomas Teraila and his wife Joyce, sister-in-law Joyce Teraila, brothers and sisters in-law; Bill and Jackie Croteau, Ginny and Rodney Hungerford, Marion Kinney and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Alphonse, Genevieve, Agnes McKone, Bernard, Joseph and Carroll Teraila. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Norah Gadomski of Norah's Place in Rockville, CT, Gay Dowding, and her staff for the wonderful and compassionate care she received at Norah's Place. Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 9-10 AM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Rt. 195), Tolland, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at St. Matthew's Church, Tolland. She will be lovingly laid to rest with her beloved husband Thomas H.
