Dorothy Wadsworth, 85, of Ellington, passed away peacefully at Woodlake of Tolland on February 3, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born on April 16, 1931 in Ellington, CT, daughter of the late Adam and Helen (Pianka) Suchecki. With her five siblings, Dorothy enjoyed an active childhood in the East Street section of Rockville. She told many stories of the dances and social events she attended with her sisters and brothers. She then met and married the late Winslow (Brad) Wadsworth. They were married for 59 years before his passing in 2013. Dorothy and Brad spent many happy years raising their family. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker and social hostess. She was very artistic and put her skills into creating beautiful garden landscapes and home décor. She had many past times including painting, cake, decorating and playing piano. She made her home a warm and inviting haven for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who all loved visiting and spent many relaxing hours there. She is survived by her children, son, Bradford R. Wadsworth, daughter, Cynthia L. Wadsworth and her fiancé, Christopher Soucier, grandchildren, Daniel K. Roussey and his wife, Madeline, Brittany C. Price and her husband, Jeremiah and Brett A. DiCioccio, and also leaves her great grandchildren, Malik, Drew, August, Maddison and Audrinna. She also leaves her sisters, Irene Mantlik and Shirley Moriarty, her brother, Richard Suchecki, her brother-in-law, Edward Fuller and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to Visiting Nurses Hospice Care of Vernon. Relatives and friends may join the family from 11 AM – 12 PM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT with a Memorial Service to follow at 12 PM.
