She was a homemaker at heart, enjoying making their home a beautiful and welcoming place, especially at the holidays. Elba was an excellent knitter, crocheter and embroiderer, famous for creating and gifting these true works of art at wedding and baby showers. Elba also knew how to throw a party for every imaginable occasion - at which you were guaranteed to find a big batch of her delicious homemade alfajor cookies and her exceptional flan. She also had a personal flair for fashion, and getting her hair done at Riccardo's was a weekly revitalizing ritual. Elba enjoyed spending time at the casino attending shows and playing the slots; her famous line "Where else can old people like us go to have some fun?" gave everyone a chuckle. Elba was a huge supporter of UCONN Women's Basketball and never missed watching a game. She also was a lover of all types of music - the louder it was, the more fun she had. Elba enjoyed the loving companionship of her pets throughout the years. Elba's legacy is a treasure trove of fond family memories.
