Obituary for Glenn A. Root

Glenn A. Root, 79, of Flagler Beach, FL, formerly of East Windsor, CT, beloved husband of the late Jean Marie (Rix) Root, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Glenn was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, the son of the late Leonard and Olive (Rood) Root. He lived in East Windsor with his family for forty-two years. Glenn was an active participant in the EW community. He was a board member and treasurer for the Warehouse Point Library. He was the treasurer and member of the admin council for the Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a Cub Scout leader and little league coach. Glenn was an active duty veteran of the US Air Force. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Basketball. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith Root and wife Mary of Enfield, CT and Kevin and Kristin Root of Merrill, WI; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Gordon Lloyd of Palm Coast, FL; his grandchildren, Steven (Jillian) and David Lloyd and Brian and Brendan Root and several nieces and nephews. Glenn is also survived by his sisters Gloria Randall and Betty O’Rourke and brother Robert Root and very dear friend Karoline Giovannucci. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home 37 Gardner St., East Windsor. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, East Windsor. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to either, Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 N. Main St., East Windsor or Warehouse Point Library, 107 Main St., East Windsor 06088.
